Job summary

New Vista in Louisville, KY is seeking an Enrichment Center Instructor to provide active treatment programs for adult clients at Bingham Gardens. You will work directly with clients to promote independence and skill-building, achieving client-specific goals and coordinating with staff and departments to schedule activities and outings.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and the ability to pass a drug screen and background check.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Be able to pass drug screen and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Author long-term goals and objectives for Clients.
• Plan client events such as birthday parties, holiday events and cooking classes.
• Provide, schedule and attend community outings.
• Attend client meetings and provide updates/notes for meeting minutes.
• Transport clients to community outings, employment or volunteer opportunities.
• Prepare in-services to teach staff on topics related to Enrichment Center Department.
• Teach skills to individuals with intellectual disabilities.
• Complete assessments pertaining to the Enrichment Center Department (Vocational, Pre-Vocational, ITA).
• Communicate/coordinate with multiple departments regarding scheduling and activities.
• Clean and sanitize EC area and materials.
• Maintain organization and time management.
• Use Microsoft Office and Outlook for communication.
