Job summary

New Vista KY is seeking an Enrichment Center Instructor to provide active treatment programs for clients at The Hazelwood Center. You will work directly with residents to promote independence and skill development aligned to individualized goals.

You will format lesson plans, set long-term objectives, plan events, coordinate community activities, and document progress for meetings. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential, with proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Pass drug screen and criminal background check; no felony or pending court date.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Format and implement client specific lesson plans.
• Author long-term goals and objectives for clients.
• Plan client events such as birthday parties and cooking classes.
• Provide, schedule and attend community outings.
• Attend client meetings and provide updates/minutes.
• Transport clients to community outings, employment or volunteer opportunities.
• Prepare in-services to teach staff on Enrichment Center topics.
• Teach skills to individuals with intellectual disabilities.
• Complete assessments (Vocational, Pre-Vocational, ITA).
• Coordinate with departments regarding scheduling and activities.
• Clean and sanitize EC area and materials.
• Demonstrate organization and time management.
• Use Microsoft Office and Outlook for documentation.
