Job summary

Macon County Schools Mountain View Intermediate in Franklin, North Carolina, seeks an Exceptional Children’s (EC) Teacher to provide specially designed instruction to students with disabilities in accordance with IDEA and NC policies. You will develop and implement IEPs, support access to the general curriculum, and foster academic, social, and behavioral growth in a least restrictive environment.

The position is full-time, 10-month, with NC State Salary Schedule-based pay and local supplements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field required.
• Valid North Carolina EC teaching license required.
• Knowledge of IDEA and NC policies for EC services.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in compliance with IDEA and NC policies.
• Deliver instruction aligned with NC SCOS and adapt curriculum as needed.
• Differentiate instruction for a wide range of exceptionalities and learning needs.
• Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers.
