Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is seeking an Exceptional Children Teacher Assistant-PNA to support EC students under the supervision of the classroom teacher. The role focuses on reinforcing learning, monitoring progress toward IEP goals, and ensuring safe classroom conduct.

Required qualifications include an Associate's degree or 48 credit hours, plus WorkKeys and completion of the DOL Teacher Assistant Apprenticeship Program. Prior EC experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 48 credit hours required.
• WorkKeys and 96 hours of in-service training.
• Completion of NC DOL Teacher Assistant Apprenticeship Program.
• One year working with EC children preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist EC students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning.
• Supervise students in classrooms, halls, and common areas.
• Support teachers in implementing IEP goals and instructional strategies.
• Prepare materials and equipment for lessons and activities.
• Participate in daily school routines and safety procedures.
