Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is seeking an Exceptional Children Teacher Assistant PNA for the 26-27 school year. The role supports an assigned EC teacher, helps students meet IEP goals, and provides access to general education as needed.

The position is based on school premises and may include bus duty and field trips. The ideal candidate has an associate degree or 48 credit hours, knowledge of IEP processes, and the ability to work with EC students under supervision.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 48 credit hours required.
• WorkKeys and in-service training are acceptable.
• Completion of NC DOL Teacher Assistant Apprenticeship Program preferred.
• One year working with EC children preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist children individually or in small groups to reinforce learning.
• Supervise students in classrooms, halls, and cafeterias.
• Document progress toward IEP goals and coordinate with classroom teachers.
• Prepare lesson materials and organize classroom learning spaces.
• Support during field trips, bus duties, and special events.
