Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools seeks an EC Teacher Assistant to support students with exceptional needs under general supervision. You will assist the assigned teacher and help EC students access general education as needed, following Board policies.

The role requires collaboration with the principal and daily involvement in classroom activities, behavior management, and progress documentation to support IEP goals.

Qualifications

• Requires educational credentials (degree/credits) and/or apprenticeship.
• Experience or training related to EC students is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist children individually or in small groups to reinforce learning as directed by the teacher.
• Supervise students in classrooms, halls, cafeterias, school yards, and gymnasiums.
• Support teachers by preparing materials, checking materials, and maintaining a productive classroom environment.
• Document student progress toward IEP goals and assist with attendance procedures.
