Job summary

At Peace Healthcare Agency is seeking experienced Direct Support Professionals to provide compassionate, person-centered support to individuals with IDD in their homes and communities.

As a DSP you will assist with daily living, encourage independence, and help clients participate in social and community activities, while following ISP and BSP plans and maintaining HIPAA privacy.

Qualifications

• Previous DSP experience required
• Valid driver’s license
• Reliable personal transportation
• Ability to pass required background checks and screenings

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support with daily living activities, personal care, mobility and companionship
• Encourage independence, self-advocacy and personal growth
• Support individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other IDD
• Follow ISPs and BSPs
• Encourage socialization, community participation and meaningful activities
• Accompany individuals to medical appointments, therapy sessions, work and community activities
• Promote a safe, respectful, person-centered environment
• Complete accurate daily documentation, progress notes and goal tracking
• Protect individual privacy and maintain HIPAA confidentiality
• Provide reliable transportation when required
