Job summary

At Peace Health Care Agency is seeking an experienced Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in home and community settings. The role focuses on empowering independence, safety, and dignity through personalized care plans and BSPs.

Ideal candidates bring DSP experience, strong communication, and a compassionate, adaptable approach. The position may involve full-time or part-time shifts with in-person work.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) is required.
• Experience supporting individuals with behavioral needs and implementing BSPs is preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills are essential.
• Compassionate, dependable, patient, and adaptable to residents’ needs.
• Ability to assist with mobility and personal care needs; patient-centered approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support with daily living activities, personal care, mobility, and companionship.
• Encourage independence, social engagement, and community participation.
• Implement individualized care plans and BSPs for individuals.
• Support individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disabilities.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and person-centered environment.
• Accompany individuals to medical appointments, therapy sessions, and community activities.
• Accurately document services, progress notes, and goal tracking.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations and agency policies.
