Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience as a Direct Support Professional (DSP)
• Experience with behavioral needs and BSPs preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Compassionate, dependable, patient and adaptable
• Ability to assist with mobility and personal care

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support with daily living activities, personal care and mobility
• Encourage independence, social engagement and community participation
• Implement individualized care plans and BSPs
• Support individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disabilities
• Maintain a safe, respectful, person-centered environment
• Accompany individuals to medical appointments, therapy sessions and community activities
• Provide reliable transportation as needed
• Document services, progress notes and goal tracking
• Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
