Job summary

At Peace Health Care Agency is seeking an experienced Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in home and community settings. You will promote independence, safety, and dignity while delivering person-centered care.

Responsibilities include daily living support, documentation, transportation as needed, and collaboration with the care team. A background in BSPs and HIPAA compliance helps ensure high-quality, confidential service.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a DSP is required.
• Experience supporting individuals with behavioral needs and BSPs preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to pass required background checks and screenings.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support with daily living activities, personal care, mobility, and companionship.
• Encourage independence, social engagement, and community participation.
• Implement individualized care plans and BSPs.
• Support individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disabilities.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and person-centered environment.
• Accompany individuals to medical appointments, therapy sessions, and community activities.
• Provide reliable transportation, as needed and document services, progress notes, and goal tracking.
• Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
