Job summary

Chariton Valley Association is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Community Living to provide compassionate, person-centered support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in residential settings. This role helps people pursue independence, dignity, and inclusion by facilitating daily living tasks, skill development, and community participation.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities preferred.
• Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle required.
• Ability to complete mandatory trainings including CPR/First Aid, Med Aide, and Universal Precautions.

Responsibilities

• Promote community integration and assist with ISP plans; encourage participation in community activities.
• Provide personalized physical and emotional support in residential ISL settings while promoting safety and dignity.
• Assist with daily living tasks including meals, laundry, bed-making, mobility and housekeeping.
• Administer prescribed medications per physician orders and maintain documentation.
• Ensure safety, cleanliness, and adherence to health and safety protocols in the home.
