Job summary

A New Horizon Inc. seeks a compassionate Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide Community Development Services (CDS) and Personal Support Services to a 34-year-old man with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The DSP will promote independence, dignity, choice, and meaningful community involvement while ensuring health and safety. Responsibilities include assisting with community participation, skill development, transportation, documentation, and compliance with Medicaid

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 18 years of age.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Reliable transportation with proof of insurance.
• Ability to pass criminal background checks and screenings.
• CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
• Experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support community participation and social engagement based on interests.
• Teach independent living, communication, and social skills.
• Provide transportation and travel training as authorized.
• Complete accurate daily service documentation and progress notes.
• Maintain health, safety, and HIPAA-compliant confidentiality.
• Report health and safety concerns per policy.
