Job summary

WellLife Network in New York seeks a Direct Support Professional to provide hands-on care, daily living support, and advocacy for individuals with developmental disabilities. You’ll assist with personal care, meal prep, mobility, and community activities to help people live more independently.

This role requires a High School diploma, fluency in English, and a valid New York State driver’s license with at least two years of driving experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalency required.
• Fluent English for client communication.
• Valid New York State driver’s license with at least 2 years of driving experience.
• Comfort operating a large vehicle for driving positions.
• Experience supporting adults with intellectual/developmental or behavioral health needs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Help with meal preparation, household chores, and creating a safe, comfortable home environment.
• Administer medications as directed.
• Support individuals in attending medical appointments and following treatment plans.
• Plan and participate in recreational, educational, and social activities.
• Maintain accurate daily notes, progress reports, incident reports, and other required documentation.
