Job summary

South Carolina Department of Social Services is seeking a CWS Case Manager to perform case management in Foster Care, collaborating with Child and Family Teams to develop individualized, strength-based family permanency plans and ensure safety, permanency, and well-being.

You will document activities per policy, engage with families and partners, and participate in legal proceedings as needed. A bachelor's degree is required; MSW strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Behavioral Science, or Social Science required.
• Bachelor's Degree in another field plus one year related experience considered.
• Master's Degree may be preferred; Child Welfare highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Case management in Foster Care within Child Welfare per DSS policy.
• Collaborate with Child and Family Teams to develop permanency plans.
• Monitor safety, permanency and well-being; on-call duties as assigned.
• Maintain case records and document in CAPSS per policy.
• Engage families and partners with empathy; participate in team meetings.
• Support legal processes and maintain certifications; pursue required training.
• Conduct field work and protect PII; participate in shelter duties as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or Behavioral Science

Bachelor's Degree in any other field + 1 year related experience

Master's Degree preferred (Child Welfare highly desired)
