Job summary

South Carolina Department of Social Services is seeking a CWS Case Worker Assistant to support Foster Care and Adoptions in the Low Country Region. The role includes transporting children to visitations, placements, and medical appointments, and performing collaborative administrative tasks with DSS staff.

You will engage families and professionals with empathy, complete required training, and safeguard PII while following policy and GPS practice.

Qualifications

• Formal education aligned with clerical/administrative work or social services preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with families and professionals.
• Demonstrated professionalism in handling sensitive information (PII).

Responsibilities

• Provide daily support including transportation and engagement for foster care and adoptions in the Low Country Region.
• Collaborate with county and regional staff to transport children to visitations, court hearings, and medical appointments.
• Perform administrative tasks consistent with DSS policy and GPS Practice Model to support families and partners.
• Engage families and professionals with empathy and support in a genuine manner.
• Complete required training for regional support tasks and maintain self-care to reduce secondary trauma risk.
• Protect Personal Identifying Information (PII) and safeguard agency networks and data.
