Carolina Outreach is seeking a full-time Peer Support Specialist to join its Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team in North Carolina. The role focuses on promoting client-centered care, providing advocacy, and coordinating services to help clients achieve stability and independence.

Ideal candidates hold a CPSS in NC and bring lived recovery experience, strong communication, and a commitment to ACT principles.

Qualifications

• Must be a Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) in North Carolina.
• Personal experience with mental health and/or substance use recovery is required, with the ability to share lived experiences as part of client support.
• Strong communication and advocacy skills.
• Commitment to upholding the principles of the ACT model and person-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with ACT team to monitor clients’ status and responses to treatment.
• Advocate for clients in accessing resources and opportunities.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and input into person-centered plans.
• Provide consultation to promote a person-centered approach to care within the team.
• Be available for 24/7/365 on-call support as needed.
