Job summary

Hampton Elementary School in Rochester Hills, MI is seeking a Special Education Resource Room Paraeducator. This part-time role (5.5 hours/day, Monday–Friday) supports students with disabilities and assists in classrooms under the supervision of teachers and administrators.

The position starts immediately and offers a wage of $16.42 per hour as per the Rochester Paraeducator Master Agreement. Prior experience with students with disabilities and proper training are valued.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or higher education transcripts required.
• Two years of higher education in approved program, transcripts required.
• Experience with individuals with disabilities preferred.
• Must maintain confidentiality and interact professionally with students, parents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Takes direction from building staff and classroom team for timely program delivery.
• Assist with orientation, reading, music, art, PE, and other curricular tasks as per student plans.
• Follow behavioral management programs and support instructional materials.
• Assist with physical mobility, self-care and daily living activities.
• Support students during lunch, recess, and other activities outside classroom.
