Job summary

Meadow Brook Elementary School is seeking a Special Education Resource Paraeducator to support students with disabilities. The role is full-time (7 hours per day, 5 days per week) with placement on the Instructional Classification Schedule per the Rochester Paraeducator Association Master Agreement.

The position requires a High School Diploma or higher, two years of college, or an associate degree, plus eligible tests.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Two years of college coursework or higher preferred.
• Associate's or higher degree acceptable.
• Passing state/local test (ParaPro/MTTC) required or transcripts provided.

Responsibilities

• Takes direction from building staff and classroom teacher.
• Assist with orientation, reading, music, art, PE and other curriculum tasks.
• Follow prescribed behavioral management programs.
• Assist with development of instructional materials and individualized program implementation.
• Assist with physical mobility and daily living activities as needed.
• Participate in lunch, recess, art and PE as part of student program.
• Support routine classroom operations and maintain instructional materials.
• Supervise students during non-classroom activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned by special educators or principal.
