Job summary

Van Hoosen Middle School is seeking a Special Education Resource Room / Noon Recess Building Paraeducator. The part-time role supports instructional activities for students with disabilities, following the 2026-27 calendar. The position provides $16.42 per hour under the Rochester Paraeducator Association Master Agreement.

The Paraeducator assists with classroom tasks, mobility, and daily living activities, and collaborates with teachers to support individualized education plans.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or higher education credits per district requirements.
• Two years of college in an approved program with transcripts, OR an associate degree or higher, or passed required state/local tests.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with learning plans and get directions from staff.
• Assist with orientation, reading, music, art, PE, and other curriculum tasks.
• Follow prescribed behavioral management programs.
• Develop instructional materials and assist with program implementation for students.
• Assist with physical mobility and activities including daily living tasks.
• Support students during lunch, recess, and other activities.
• Prepare classroom materials and maintain supplies.
• Supervise students during activities outside the classroom.
• Communicate progress to educators in a timely manner.
