Job summary

Hampton Elementary School in Rochester Hills is seeking a Special Education Resource Paraeducator. This part-time role provides 7 hours per day, five days weekly, following the 2026-27 calendar. Starting immediately, compensation is $16.42 per hour under the Rochester Paraeducator Master Agreement.

The position supports students with disabilities under supervision of the classroom teacher and special educator, assisting with instructional activities, mobility, and daily living tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completed at least two years of higher education in an approved program, transcripts required.
• Associate's or higher degree, transcripts required.
• Passed state/local test (ParaPro MTTC) to demonstrate knowledge as defined by NCLB.

Responsibilities

• Assist with orientation, reading, art, music, and other curriculum tasks as directed.
• Follow prescribed behavioral management programs for students.
• Assist with instructional materials development and adapting activities.
• Support with mobility and daily living activities including toileting and feeding as needed.
• Supervise students during activities beyond the classroom and assist with daily routines.
