Job summary

Hamlin Elementary School in Rochester Hills, MI seeks a part-time General Education/Noon Recess Building Paraeducator. Location: Hamlin Elementary School. 5.5 hours/day, 5 days/week, Mon–Fri, starting immediately for the 2026-2027 calendar.

Salary is $16.42/hour under the Rochester Paraeducator Association Master Agreement. Requires post-secondary credentials or higher, and strong English communication. Experience with elementary students preferred.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary credentials required per Rochester Paraeducator Association Master Agreement.
• Completed at least two years of higher education in an approved program (transcripts required).
• Received an Associate’s or higher degree (transcripts or diploma required).
• Passed state/local tests designed to demonstrate knowledge (ParaPro/MTTC).
• Patience and ability to interact professionally with others.
• Strong command of the English language.
• Experience supporting Elementary instructional programs preferred.
• Ability to provide academic support with appropriate level curriculum.
• Experience working with colleagues to plan and implement lessons with independence.
• Proficiency in basic computer literacy (Word/Excel).
• Regular, reliable and punctual attendance required.

Responsibilities

• Assists in planning and implementing academic support for the Learning Consultant Program students.
• Helps students understand assignments and projects as directed by teachers.
• Assists in administering appropriate tests to students.
• Maintains records of activities and attendance.
• Operates office and instructional equipment.
• Orders materials for classroom use as directed.
• Distributes and collects workbooks and materials.
• Conducts learning exercises with groups of children.
• Monitors testing results and relates to planning.
• Operates classroom equipment and tech as needed.
• Attends parent/teacher conferences when requested.
• Supports medication dispensation per district regulations and plan.
