Job summary

Jericho Project seeks a full-time Employment Specialist for the Scattered Sites population in the Fordham Village area of the Bronx. You will coordinate workforce development services, work with the Senior Employment Specialist and Program Director, and help participants reach employment, education, and training goals.

The role requires building employer relationships, developing job opportunities, and guiding job seekers through placement and follow-up.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Three or more years of experience as a job developer.
Existing transferable job bank of appropriate employers.
Ability to make 60+ job placements per year.
Experience working with individuals in mental health/substance use recovery or homelessness is highly preferred.
High level of written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to travel within all 5 NYC boroughs.

Responsibilities

Implement job development strategies to place 60 adults in jobs annually.
Cultivate relationships with key employers in Jericho programs.
Identify employment opportunities matching participants’ skills and education.
Customize job development strategies and conduct individualized job searches.
Develop a diverse job bank of opportunities at varying competency levels.
Coordinate referrals and services with the WfO team and program staff.
Screen and match candidates, facilitate interviews, and provide employer feedback.
Maintain ongoing communication with job seekers and employers throughout the process.
