Work Opportunities Unlimited in College Park, MD is seeking an Employment Specialist (Career Resource Specialist) to help individuals find meaningful employment. You will work with job seekers to develop career goals, craft resumes, and prepare for interviews in a supportive, collaborative environment.

Daily duties include coaching at job sites, engaging with local employers to create opportunities, and assisting with transportation to interviews; mileage is reimbursed.

As an Employment Specialist (known internally as a Career Resource Specialist) you will help individuals find meaningful employment.

A typical day might include the following:

• Working with individuals to develop career goals and objectives
• Teaching individuals how to create a customized resume, fill out effective job applications, write cover letters, and prepare for interviews
• Engaging with local businesses to develop potential job opportunities
• Coaching and guiding individuals at their job sites
• Provide occasional transportation to interviews and other essential employment milestones, while supporting individuals towards independent community travel. (mileage reimbursement provided)

Additional requirements include:

• Valid driver’s license and comfortable traveling within your local community
• Monday – Friday, daytime business hours (flexibility offered for part-time)
• Comfortable using MS Office, documenting notes in an electronic system, and accessing apps on a mobile device
