Job summary

Work Opportunities Unlimited (WOU) seeks an Employment Specialist to help individuals find meaningful employment. The role involves coaching clients to develop career goals, creating tailored resumes, guiding job applications, and preparing for interviews.

You will engage with local businesses to develop opportunities and coach clients at their job sites. A rewarding career growth path through our Management Training Program is available.

Qualifications

• Four years of experience in a public vocational rehabilitation and/or workforce development setting working with individuals with disabilities.
• Valid driver’s license and comfortable traveling within your local community.
• Comfortable using MS Office, documenting notes in an electronic system, and accessing apps on a mobile device.

Responsibilities

• Help individuals develop career goals and objectives.
• Teach resume writing, job applications, cover letters, and interview preparation.
• Engage with local businesses to create job opportunities.
• Coach and guide individuals at their job sites.

Education

Associate's degree + 3 years experience

Bachelor's degree + 2 years experience

Master's degree + 1 year experience

As an Employment Specialist you will help individuals find meaningful employment. Please note that this role would require candidates to have the following experience:

Four years of experience in a public vocational rehabilitation and/or workforce development setting working with individuals with disabilities including responsibilities in job coaching and job placement OR an associate's degree and three years of experience OR a bachelor’s degree and two years of experience OR a master’s degree and one year of experience.

A typical day might include the following:

• Working with individuals to develop career goals and objectives
• Teaching individuals how to create a customized resume, fill out effective job applications, write cover letters, and prepare for interviews
• Engaging with local businesses to develop potential job opportunities
• Coaching and guiding individuals at their job sites

Pay: $19-$21 **room for additional compensation based on supporting clients to achieve successful outcomes**
