Job summary

Work Opportunities Unlimited in Somerville, MA, is seeking an Employment Specialist to help individuals find meaningful employment on a daily basis. You will transport clients, coach on resumes and interviews, and engage local businesses to create opportunities, while guiding individuals at their job sites.

The role blends high-touch service with independent work in a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Experience in high-touch customer service environments.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently.
• Comfort using MS Office, documenting notes in an electronic system, and accessing apps on a mobile device.

Responsibilities

• Use your vehicle to transport individuals to and from interviews (mileage reimbursed).
• Help individuals develop career goals and objectives.
• Teach resume writing, job applications, cover letters, and interview prep.
• Engage with local businesses to develop job opportunities.
• Coach and guide individuals at their job sites.

As an Employment Specialist you will help individuals find meaningful employment.

A typical day might include the following:

• Using your vehicle to transport individuals to and from job interviews (mileage reimbursement provided)
• Working with individuals to develop career goals and objectives
• Teaching individuals how to create a customized resume, fill out effective job applications, write cover letters, and prepare for interviews
• Engaging with local businesses to develop potential job opportunities
• Coaching and guiding individuals at their job sites

• Valid driver's license and comfortable traveling within your local community
• Monday - Friday, daytime business hours (flexibility offered for part-time)
• Comfortable using MS Office, documenting notes in an electronic system, and accessing apps on a mobile device
