Job summary

Youth Advocate Programs, Inc. is seeking a Part Time Hourly Youth Advocate to support individuals in our Developmental Disability Programs in the Bethlehem area. The role offers up to 40 hours per week with flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Requirements include a relevant degree or experience, strong communication, and the ability to work with diverse populations. Bilingual abilities and EHR experience are a plus; transportation and a valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in psychology or related field, OR
  • Bachelor’s Degree in any major with one year of paid experience
  • Associates Degree or 60 completed college credits with three years of paid experience
  • High School Diploma or GED and one-year paid or volunteer experience with young adults/adults
  • ACRES Certification is preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience using an electronic health record (EHR) system is a plus
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and current auto insurance coverage is required
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus

Job description

Status: Part Time Hourly

FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

Hourly Rate: $27.00

Schedule: Availability to work flexible hours; up to 40 hours per week. May include evenings and weekends

Summary of the Position: Youth Advocate Programs, Inc. is invested in the belief of self-determination and positive approaches for all individuals that we serve in our Developmental Disability Programs. We follow the concepts set by the Office of Developmental Programs in Pennsylvania that defines *Everyday Lives as the personal with a disability having the support of the families and friends; individual decides how to live their lives; what supports they need; and how they want to spend their money in their individual budgets. The key components are accountability, choice, collaboration, inclusion, contributing to the community, control, freedom, individuality, mentoring, quality, relationships, safety, stability, and success. *Everyday Lives excerpt from 1991 Everyday Lives Booklet.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in psychology or a related field OR
