Merakey is hiring an Employment Specialist in Lake Charles, LA. The role supports members on an Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team, helping with educational and occupational goals and vocational rehabilitation.

You will work in a community-based setting with individuals diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illness. The position offers a base pay of $22/hour plus a $7,500 annual mileage stipend and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Sociology, Psychology, Social Work or Counseling.
• Active Driver's License or ability to transfer license to LA.
• Willingness to work in a community-based setting with members diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illness.

Responsibilities

• Assist members with reaching occupational and educational goals.
• Provide vocational rehabilitation through assessment and supportive employment methods.
• Maintain resources and benefits to support basic needs; provide crisis support and education as part of the ACT team.

Employment Specialist are an essential part of the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team. The multidisciplinary team provides evidenced based services to members diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illness. You will assist members with reaching occupational and/or educational goals, provide our members with vocational rehabilitation through assessment and supportive employment methods. Also assist our member with maintaining resources and benefits that can assist our members with meeting their basic needs and provide crisis support, reinforcements, and education to all members on the team.
