Job summary

Merakey is seeking an Employment Specialist to join our Alexandria, LA team. The ACT-based role supports members in reaching occupational and educational goals through assessment and supportive employment.

Earn $22.00/hour plus a $7,500 yearly mileage stipend. A Bachelor's in Sociology, Psychology, Social Work, or Counseling is required, as is an active Louisiana driver's license; fieldwork will involve community-based settings and crisis support.

Qualifications

• Active Driver's License in Louisiana (or ability to transfer) required.
• Bachelor's degree in Sociology, Psychology, Social Work or Counseling required.
• Must be willing to work in a community-based setting with members diagnosed with severe mental illness.

Responsibilities

• Assist members with reaching occupational and educational goals.
• Provide vocational rehabilitation through assessment and supportive employment methods.
• Assist members with maintaining resources and benefits to meet basic needs.
• Provide crisis support, reinforcements, and education to all team members.

Position Details

Employment Specialist are an essential part of the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team. The multidisciplinary team provides evidenced based services to members diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illness. You will assist members with reaching occupational and/or educational goals, provide our members with vocational rehabilitation through assessment and supportive employment methods. Also assist our member with maintaining resources and benefits that can assist our members with meeting their basic needs and provide crisis support, reinforcements, and education to all members on the team.
