Job summary

Merakey is seeking an Employment Specialist to join our ACT team in Lake Charles, LA. You will support members with vocational goals, provide assessment-driven placement, and offer strategies for employment and benefits navigation.

The role emphasizes community-based work, collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, and crisis support to help members achieve independence. A bachelor’s degree in a related field and a Louisiana driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with state of LA or ability to transfer
• Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Psychology, Social Work or Counseling
• Experience in community-based settings or with individuals with mental health conditions is preferred

Position Details

Employment Specialist are an essential part of the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team. The multidisciplinary team provides evidenced based services to members diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illness. You will assist members with reaching occupational and/or educational goals, provide our members with vocational rehabilitation through assessment and supportive employment methods. Also assist our member with maintaining resources and benefits that can assist our members with meeting their basic needs and provide crisis support, reinforcements, and education to all members on the team.
