Job summary

Merakey seeks a Housing Specialist in Lafayette, LA to coordinate housing services for individuals served by the F/ACT team. You will help procure safe, affordable housing and related necessities while teaching money management and advocating for individuals’ rights.

Qualified candidates have a Bachelor’s degree in counseling/psychology/social work or sociology, a valid LA driver’s license, and at least 1 year of housing experience. This role offers comprehensive benefits and a mileage stipend.

Earn: $20.70/hour + $7,500/yearly mileage stipend

Position Details

Our Housing Specialist will coordinate Housing services for all individuals served by the F/ACT team. Assist individuals in the procurement of safe and affordable housing and related necessities while developing a relationship with landlords. Insure the individuals have adequate financial support and teach and promote money management skills and support individuals in the performance of household activities (cleaning, organizing, etc.) Educate and support individual's families and advocate for individual's rights and preferences. Attend housing related meetings in the community and Act as a liaison with stakeholders.
