Job summary

Work Opportunities Unlimited is seeking an Employment Specialist to help individuals with disabilities find meaningful employment. The role emphasizes hands-on job coaching, resume support, and job placement within the community.

You’ll work Monday–Friday during daytime hours, travel locally in your own vehicle, and engage with local businesses to create opportunities. Four years of relevant experience or an equivalent degree path are required; ESOP benefits included.

Qualifications

• Four years of experience in a public vocational rehabilitation and/or workforce development setting working with individuals with disabilities including responsibilities in job coaching and job placement.
• This role may involve travel within the local community to provide direct services.

Responsibilities

• Working with individuals to develop career goals and objectives
• Teaching individuals how to create a customized resume, fill out effective job applications, write cover letters, and prepare for interviews
• Engaging with local businesses to develop potential job opportunities
• Coaching and guiding individuals at their job sites
• Community-based travel in your personal vehicle to facilitate community-based job development and coaching, ensuring all services are delivered directly in the local environment. (mileage reimbursement provided)

As an Employment Specialist (known internally as a Career Resource Specialist) you will help individuals find meaningful employment. Please note that this role would require candidates to have the following experience:

Four years of experience in a public vocational rehabilitation and/or workforce development setting working with individuals with disabilities including responsibilities in job coaching and job placement OR an associate's degree and three years of experience OR a bachelor's degree and two years of experience OR a master's degree and one year of experience.

A typical day might include the following:

• Working with individuals to develop career goals and objectives
• Teaching individuals how to create a customized resume, fill out effective job applications, write cover letters, and prepare for interviews
• Engaging with local businesses to develop potential job opportunities
• Coaching and guiding individuals at their job sites

• Valid driver's license and comfortable traveling within your local community

Pay: $19-$21 room for additional compensation based on supporting clients to achieve successful outcomes
