Job summary

The Oregon Employment Department is seeking an Area Manager (Employment Services Manager 2) for the Medford WorkSource Office. This role supervises and coordinates employment services and related programs, ensuring alignment with federal and state requirements and strong client outcomes.

You will lead strategic planning, manage contracts and budgets, supervise staff, and collaborate with workforce partners to deliver high-impact services to job seekers and employers in the region.

Qualifications

• Six years of supervision/management experience or three years with a bachelor’s degree.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field required.
• Strong knowledge of local workforce system and stakeholder collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness and conduct strategic planning.
• Communicate a clear vision for growth and performance of the program area.
• Deliver and administer department programs, including employment services and WIOA components.
• Manage budgets, expenditures, and invoices for multiple Title IB programs.
• Develop contracts with workforce partners and coordinate service delivery.
• Liaise with community partners and other agencies on OED policies.
