Job summary

Our Boston-based law firm client seeks an Associate Attorney to handle sophisticated employment litigation matters in a hybrid work setting. The candidate will represent employers in state and federal courts, draft pleadings, take/defend depositions, and develop litigation strategies while advising on employment law compliance.

Requirements include a JD from an accredited law school, Massachusetts Bar admission, 3–7 years of labor and employment litigation experience, and strong writing/advocacy

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school with a strong academic record.
• Active Massachusetts Bar admission, in good standing.
• 3-7 years of substantive labor and employment litigation experience.
• Experience handling employment-related disputes including discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, retaliation, wage and hour.
• Strong experience drafting pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses.
• Experience taking and defending depositions.
• Experience appearing in state and federal courts and arbitration.
• Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent legal writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
• Experience providing employment counseling to management teams preferred.
• Large law firm or employment boutique experience preferred.
• Self-starter with ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Represent employers in a broad range of employment litigation matters in state and federal courts, administrative proceedings, and arbitration.
• Draft and respond to pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
• Conduct witness interviews, legal research, and case analysis.
• Take and defend depositions and assist with trial and hearing preparation.
• Develop litigation strategy and work directly with clients to achieve favorable outcomes.
• Advise employers on employment law compliance and workplace risk management issues.
• Collaborate with attorneys across the firm's labor and employment practice on complex matters.
• Manage case files and litigation deadlines from inception through resolution.
