Job summary

Jobot in California is partnering with a well-established law firm to hire an Employment Defense Attorney with 4+ years of experience to handle meaningful, high-impact work from pleadings through trial.

You will manage a diverse caseload (wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, wage and hour), advise clients, draft motions, and lead negotiations while building lasting client relationships. Competitive salary and full benefits offered.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Active California State Bar membership.
• 4+ years of employment defense litigation experience.
• Solid grasp of CA state and federal court procedures.
• Strong writing and communication skills.
• Independent, detail-oriented, and a true team player.

Responsibilities

• Managing a varied caseload of employment defense matters (wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, wage and hour, and more)
• Handling all phases of litigation pleadings, discovery, trial, and appeal when needed
• Advising clients directly and keeping them in the loop every step of the way
• Drafting motions, pleadings, and discovery responses backed by sharp legal research
• Appearing at hearings, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials
• Leading settlement negotiations and ADR to get clients the best possible outcomes
• Teaming up with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to keep cases moving smoothly

You’ll step into a diverse caseload, wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, wage and hour and get real ownership from pleadings through trial. This isn’t a firm looking for someone to just fill a seat; they want an attorney who’s sharp, strategic, and ready to build strong client relationships.
