Job summary

Goodwill Greater Milwaukee & Chicago is seeking a Job Developer to build employer relationships and identify opportunities for individuals in Supported Employment programs. The role markets job seekers’ strengths, uses targeted sales approaches, and partners with support teams to guide job-seeking skills and advocacy.

The position involves coordinating with DVR counselors, families, and staff, developing job leads, and driving quarterly placement goals through work experiences and on-going

Qualifications

• Two years of college education or experience equivalency, and a minimum of 1 year experience.
• Must have valid driver's license, necessary insurance and be able to legally operate a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Plans and manages own work to reliably complete routine duties and special assignments.
• Uses problem-solving skills to identify root causes and resolve issues.
• Performs tasks in accordance with established procedures and professional standards.
• Represents Goodwill in the community and participates in volunteer opportunities when possible.
• Markets the skills of job seekers to employers using targeted sales approaches and negotiations to meet quarterly placement goals.
• Assesses individuals' strengths and interests to align them with suitable vocational areas while meeting employer needs.
• Trains and guides individuals in job-seeking skills and self-presentation, providing counseling and advocacy as needed.
• Coordinates with referrals sources, families, guardians and staff to help clients achieve community employment.
• Develops relationships with other Goodwill units to cross-sell services and expand job opportunities.
• Drives to achieve quarterly placement goals, coordinates temporary work experiences, and provides job coaching.
• Prepares job development plans, progress reports, and activity records monthly.
• Performs any other assigned duties.

Education
