Job summary

The University of Michigan's Stephen M. Ross School of Business seeks a Student Career Counselor in a hybrid role based in Ann Arbor, MI, reporting to the Employer Relations Manager. The position supports MBA, MAcc, MSCM, MM, MBAn and BBA students with recruiting operations and advising.

You will coordinate on- and off-campus recruiting, advise students on interview processes, and manage career events, with occasional travel and nonstandard hours.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1+ years of relevant experience in a professional team setting, including working with key stakeholders, coordinating events, and building or optimizing content.

Responsibilities

  • 50% - Company Recruiting Operations and Logistics: Manage the logistical and tactical support for on and off-campus recruiting activities to support over 4500 Michigan Ross students across seven degree programs; provide benchmarking analysis on recruiting policies and job descriptions; plan knowledge-sharing; maintain over 800 company recruiting activities and 5000 job schedules annually.
  • 35% - Student Advising: Advise students on on-campus interview processes and how to approach recruiters; act as resident expert on the 12Twenty system for students and recruiters.
  • 15% - Event, Communication, and Service Coordination: Execute student- and employer-facing services; manage logistics for career fairs and multi-school interview forums; represent Ross at career fairs; handle promotional communications.

Job Summary

As the Employee Relations Coordinator, you will manage the recruiting operations, logistics and guidance of MBA, MAcc, MSCM, MM, MBAn and BBA students. You will provide support for companies and students at the Stephen M. Ross School of Business. You will report to the Employer Relations Manager.

This hybrid position is based in Ann Arbor, MI, with an expectation of three days per week on-site. The role may require occasional domestic travel, on-call responsibilities, and work outside standard business hours, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends. This position is included in the bargaining unit represented by the University Staff United (USU), which represents bargaining unit members in all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours, and other terms and conditions of employment.

This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and maintain that authorization throughout employment.

Responsibilities*

50% - Company Recruiting Operations and Logistics

  • Manage the logistical and tactical support for on and off-campus recruiting activities to support over 4500 Michigan Ross students across seven different degree programs.
  • Provide companies with benchmarking analysis (industry trends, recruiting policies and reviewing job descriptions/job titles) to strengthen their on-campus recruiting relationship.
  • Participate in the planning and knowledge sharing of recruitment practices and gather and present student feedback during company strategy meetings.
  • Maintain over 800 company recruiting activities and 5000 job schedules annually.


35% - Student Advising

  • Advise students on the on-campus interview process and how to approach and correspond with company recruiters.
  • Answer all questions and act as the resident expert on the recruiting and advising system (12Twenty) for students and recruiters to ensure they can easily use the system for recruiting and coaching appointments.

Represent CDO to current and visiting prospective students and student organizations

15% - Event, Communication, and Service Coordination

  • Help execute important student- and employer-facing services:
    • Career Fairs
    • Manage logistics and implementation of multi-school interview forums and career fairs.
    • Represent Ross at career fairs
    • Responsible for all student and recruiter promotional communications

Modes of Work

Additional Information

The salary offer range for this position is $46,100 to $54,200. Salary offers are determined based on several factors, including a candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications, along with internal equity considerations. It is not common for new hires to be placed at the top of the range.
