Job summary

Maximus is seeking an Employee Relations Specialist to support the centralized Employee Relations team. The role emphasizes leading moderately complex investigations, advising managers, and ensuring compliance with EEO, ADA, FMLA, and related laws.

Qualified candidates will have a bachelor's degree and at least 3 years HR experience, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with case management systems. A high attention to detail and collaboration with HR, Legal, and other stakeholders is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with minimum 3 years HR-related experience required.
• Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of human capital practices, techniques, and standards.
• Requires good judgment, organizational, multi-tasking, problem solving and time management skills.
• Strong working knowledge of Excel required and experience with case management systems preferred.
• Demonstrate the skills to evaluate facts, deliver findings and recommendations on sensitive cases through clear communication .
• Exceptional attention to detail when it comes to documentation, process execution, and follow up.
• Enjoys partnering with HR colleagues, Legal, and other stakeholder groups to implement solutions and achieve business results.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage moderately complex workplace Investigations assigned, partnering with internal stakeholders and drafting comprehensive reports.
• Provide guidance to people managers on performance management, terminations, conflict resolution, policy interpretation.
• Monitor ER entry point for guidance requests via people services portal and escalate complex matters.
• Possess knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations including EEO, ADA, FMLA.
• Recommend actions to resolve conflicts and monitor aftercare plans.
• Assist with various projects and programs within the ER division.
• Assess risk and escalate/report issues timely and ethically.
