Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an Employee Relations Specialist to deliver high-quality ER solutions, coach managers, and ensure fair policy application across business lines. The role requires handling investigations, regulatory issues, and employee counsel across multiple levels.

You will collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence, interpret the handbook, and support exit interviews while staying current on wage and regulatory developments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field (HR, Business Admin, Communications) and 3+ years HR experience OR 5 years progressive work experience in lieu of degree.
  • Working knowledge of common department software and tech.
  • Familiarity with Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and email products.
  • Previous internal investigations experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills across management and staff.
  • Proven customer service experience.
  • Ability to defuse irate callers with courtesy and professionalism.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong consulting, influencing, and presentation skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of employment law and regulations.
  • Demonstrated HR practices knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high quality employee relations solutions to assigned lines of business and/or geographic areas.
  • Resolve employee and regulatory complaints and participate in investigations.
  • Coach managers and employees to resolve workplace issues.
  • Ensure uniform and equitable application of policies and procedures.
  • Consult with leaders, managers, and employees on work-environment issues.
  • Apply mediation and incident management skills in organizational settings.
  • Analyze employee relations matters and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Administer performance expectations and corrective action policies under supervision.
  • Determine when termination is appropriate and oversee the process.
  • Prepare documentation and enter information into systems.
  • Interpret and counsel on the employee handbook.
  • Participate in EEOC, HR and wage/hour complaints and regulatory meetings.
  • Counsel on conduct, disputes, finances, illness or disability and performance issues.
  • Consult on affirmative action and EEO policies and practices.
  • Conduct trainings on employee relations, policies, legal issues, and performance management.
  • Collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence.
  • Support and analyze the exit interview process.
  • Respond to policy inquiries and report issues to Corporate Employee Relations.
  • Provide presentations on legal issues and government regulations.
  • Keep informed on wages, benefits, recruitment, and equal opportunity developments.
  • Complete other related duties as assigned.

  • Interpret and counsel on the employee handbook
  • Participate in EEOC, Human Rights, and Wage and Hour complaints, hearings, and regulatory meetings
  • Counsel employees on conduct, disputes, financial problems, illness or disability, and performance issues
  • Consult on Affiantative Action and EEO policies and practices
  • Conduct presentations and training on employee relations, policies, legal issues, and performance management

Requirements
