Job summary

Ascendo Resources is seeking an experienced HR Investigator to independently manage complex employee relations investigations. The role combines strong investigative skills with knowledge of employment laws, HR policies, and compliance to ensure fair and thorough outcomes.

The position operates in a hybrid environment with onsite and remote days, starting ASAP as a contract-to-hire opportunity. You will work closely with HR and Legal to uphold compliance and drive improvements across policies

Qualifications

• Experience conducting HR/Employee Relations investigations.

• Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Conduct complex to critical workplace investigations, including interviewing employees and witnesses.
• Develop investigation strategies and independently manage an assigned caseload.

• Make informed determinations and ensure investigations are completed accurately and on schedule.
• Maintain thorough, confidential investigation documentation and case records.
• Partner with HR and Legal to handle investigations compliantly and appropriately.
• Identify trends, root causes, and risk areas and recommend solutions.
• Assist with compliance training for employees and managers.
• Contribute to HR policy and process improvements and stay updated on legislation.

We are seeking an experienced HR Investigator to join our team and independently manage complex and sensitive employee relations investigations. This role is ideal for someone with strong investigative skills, sound judgment, and a solid understanding of employment laws, HR policies, and compliance.

Hybrid: Onsite Tuesday–Thursday | Remote Monday & Friday

Pay: $22-24/hour

What You’ll Do:

• Conduct complex to critical workplace investigations, including interviewing employees, witnesses, and other involved parties
• Develop investigation strategies and independently manage an assigned caseload
• Research and analyze documentation, evidence, policies, and applicable employment laws
• Make informed determinations and ensure investigations are completed accurately and within established timelines
• Maintain thorough, confidential, and well-written investigation documentation and case records
• Partner closely with HR and Legal to ensure investigations are handled appropriately and compliantly
• Identify trends, root causes, and potential risk areas and recommend solutions
• Support positive employee relations by addressing workplace concerns fairly and effectivelyAssist with compliance training for employees and managers
• Contribute to the development and improvement of HR policies, processes, and compliance practices
• Stay current on employment legislation, regulations, and industry trends
