Job summary

Helmerich and Payne is seeking an Employee Relations (ER) Specialist to investigate employee concerns, coach leaders, and ensure compliance with employment laws. The role supports field and office management in personnel matters and analyzes listening surveys for continuous improvement.

The position requires a Bachelor’s in HR or related field and 3+ years in HR, with English/Spanish preferred, and proficiency in MS Office and Power BI. Onsite in Tulsa, OK.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in HRM, Business Management or related degree.
• Minimum 3+ years' experience in Human Resources.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Knowledge of FLSA, ADA, EEO and state employment laws.
• Experience in employee relations, talent management, recruiting and payroll.
• Excellent written and oral communication.

Responsibilities

• Investigates and responds to employee relations issues such as complaints, harassment, retaliation and discrimination.
• Investigates Ethics Hotline issues assigned to HR.
• Works with management to assist them on personnel matters.
• Provides advice on handling difficult employee situations.
• Interprets policy and consults legal counsel as appropriate on personnel matters.
• Coaches leaders to improve performance through feedback and development.
• Guides leaders in fair corrective actions to discipline employees.
• Addresses conflicts to maintain positive relations.
• Listens to employee concerns to encourage a supportive atmosphere.
• Analyzes listening surveys to obtain insights and fuel improvement.
• Maintains knowledge of employment law and compliance.
• Communicates policy changes and ensures compliance.
• Counsels management on unemployment claims hearings.
• Facilitates the reasonable accommodation process.
• Provides reporting to detect trends and support HR decisions.
