Qualifications

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.

SUMMARY: The Employee Relations Manager leads complex workplace investigations, manages cases from intake through resolution, and collaborates with Human Resources and Legal to ensure consistent, compliant, and well-documented outcomes while minimizing organizational risk.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESCollaborate with human resource managers and business unit leaders to timely respond to employee issues and complaints. Conduct comprehensive investigations, following case management and process protocols, into complaints or concerns. Operate as the primary investigator and case manager when issues have been escalated beyond the local management open door policy. Communicate as needed with the division leader, business unit management, human resources and legal, as needed.Provide guidance and counsel to managers and Human Resource Managers on employee disciplinary and corrective actions to ensure consistency and equity while reducing overall risk resulting from an investigation or other issues, as needed. Guide programs of alternative dispute resolution through a successful completion including oversight of all adverse action including final written warnings and terminations.Ensure accurate and complete documentation is maintained in a centralized, secured repository for all investigations and disciplinary actions. Maintain accurate timelines of all investigations and complaints/requests. These systems include but are not limited to our Case Management System and Legal Ticketing System. Ensure Weekly Reporting and documentation of guidance is provided to key stakeholders.Review and adjudicate background check results in accordance with Company policy and applicable laws.Review employee disciplinary appeals and provide objective recommendations based on investigative findings, documentation, and policy application. Provide regular reporting on appeals metrics and identify trends for proactive remediation.Track and monitor trends in discipline and complaints; proactively develop guidance for managers and human resources. Provide advice and counsel to management and employees on human resource practices to maintain a positive employee and labor relations environment.Assist with or facilitate all required training pertaining to dispute resolution and employee relations practices. Use Employee Relations Data Analysis to determine if proactive communication or training would benefit the organization.Special projects and assignments as business dictates.Responsible for creation, maintenance and control of all personally identifiable information or any other information protected by Confidentiality and Privacy Standards, in accordance with Mass Regulations on Personal Identity Regulations and HIPAA.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESThis position has no supervisory responsibilitySKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree required, Human Resources, Criminal Justice or Pre-Law preferred.4+ or more years of experience in Human Resources, Employee Relations, Workplace Investigations, Employment Law, or a related fieldExperience conducting workplace investigations, managing confidential case files, and preparing investigative reports.Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and manage sensitive matters with professionalism and objectivity.Strong interviewing, listening. and verbal and written communication skillsMust have attention to detail and focused concentrationMust be able to learn new tasks and complete tasks independentlyMust be able to make timely decisions in the context of the workflowMust possess strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task and responsivenessPHYSICAL DEMANDSReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.WORK ENVIRONMENTOn site in Foxborough, MAA dynamic, complex fast-paced environment requires that each individual truly seek to learn and understand from others.
