Job summary

CME Group is seeking an Employee Relations Manager to support programs shaping our culture and employee experience. You will coach managers, handle investigations, and advise HR leadership with a focus on risk-balanced employee advocacy.

You will serve as the NY office HR contact, steer offboarding, and manage unemployment claims while advancing policy alignment across the organization. This is a strategic role in a global markets company.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of related experience in a professional HR function.
• Strong knowledge of performance management coaching and investigations.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to interact effectively with management and employees at all levels.
• Experience with Google proficiency and Workday or other HRMS.
• Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
• Preferred: PHR or SPHR certification.
• Experience as HR Generalist or site lead.

Responsibilities

• Empower and coach managers to build high-performing, accountable teams through proactive performance management, collaborative improvement planning, and consistent application of CME Group’s policies and philosophies across the company.
• As needed, work with management to create performance improvement plans.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to HR colleagues and leadership, providing proactive guidance on employment-related matters, balancing organizational risk management with employee advocacy.
• Manage and resolve complex employee relations matters and investigations with objectivity and empathy, ensuring policy alignment while fostering an open and inclusive workplace.
• Serve as the primary HR contact and point person for the New York office, providing guidance, support, and site lead representation for local employees and leadership.
• Handle offboarding activities for departing employees, ensuring a thorough and consistent process.
• Manage the company’s unemployment insurance claims.
