Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) is seeking an Employee Relations Coordinator to support unemployment claims, disciplinary actions and grievance processes. Under supervision, you will assist with investigations, FOIA requests, and notices, while maintaining confidential information and accurate records.

You will partner with HR and program areas to ensure compliance with federal and state laws, agency policies, and timely responses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of federal and state employment laws.
• Ability to interpret agency policies and procedures.
• Experience supporting employee relations programs and HR processes.

Responsibilities

• Foster positive relationships between employees and the organization while ensuring policy compliance.
• Provide guidance to management and staff on agency policies and procedures.
• Assist with discipline documentation and employee relations processes for timely interventions.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure confidentiality of information.
• Process unemployment claims, FOIA requests, and outside employment approvals as needed.
• Assist with investigations and develop recommendations for appropriate actions.
