Job summary

FORTÉ seeks a Technical Operations Manager to lead its professional services teams and drive delivery excellence in a fast-paced environment. You will oversee project delivery, financial performance, and resource planning to align with strategic growth targets.

You will partner with Sales and Delivery to ensure scalable, repeatable project execution, while coaching and developing talent across the organization.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a professional service, project delivery, or operations team in a project-based or services-driven environment.
• Ability to oversee large teams, provide guidance, manage performance, and support talent growth.
• Profit & Loss accountability including ownership of operating budgets, forecasting, revenue, costs, and margins.
• Understanding of key operational and financial metrics such as utilization, productivity, and margins.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage the fiscal year operating plan, including workforce (FTE) planning, fixed assets, and training investments.
• Accountable for overall departmental financial performance, achieving or exceeding budgeted revenue, gross margin, and net income targets.
• Review contract documents with Sales, Engineering, Delivery, and customers prior to order processing to confirm scope, feasibility, schedules, and margins.
• Assign project managers and delivery leaders and coordinate resources to meet quality, service, and profitability objectives.
• Partner with Sales through joint customer engagement to promote engineering services, implementation, and managed service offerings.
• Foster a high-performance culture by setting expectations, coaching team members, recognizing achievement, and addressing performance issues.
• Ensure technical services personnel receive training aligned to development plans and performance goals.
