Job summary

Sundt is a 100% employee-owned contractor in El Paso, TX, seeking a Project Engineer to serve as the technical source of information on the project and coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers. You will respond to questions about drawings, shop drawings, and change orders, while maintaining professional relationships across stakeholders.

This role includes developing procurement schedules, coordinating submittals, budgeting, cost control, and close-out

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of construction engineering technology and related codes and standards.
• Four-year construction-related degree or equivalent with 3–4 years of similar experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to supervise a team of varied disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates understanding of PMP components and change management processes.
• Develops a procurement schedule and integrates with the project CPM schedule.
• Procures materials/equipment and coordinates submittals; reviews for contract compliance.
• Maintains As-built documents; compiles close-out requirements including manuals and warranties.
• Participates in concrete form design and takeoffs for concrete, earthwork, and utilities.
• Plans, develops and supervises project team members for relentless execution.
• Prepares quantity reporting mechanisms and meeting minutes; maintains project logs.
• Reviews change orders and time extensions; manages change order logs.
• Identifies and mitigates potential claims to prevent disputes.
