Job summary

Summers Plumbing Heating & Cooling is seeking a General Manager to lead day-to-day branch operations, support teams, serve customers, and drive meeting goals. You will guide maintenance, service, and installation activities and help manage budgets and performance reports.

The role emphasizes strong supervisory, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on operational efficiency, safety, and high-quality workmanship. Evening hours may be required.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift and maneuver equipment up to 75 lbs.
• Must be able to crawl, climb, kneel, squat, bend and reach overhead.
• Must be able to climb and work on ladders.
• Must be able to use hand and power tools.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• Strong supervisory, communication and computer skills are required.
• Ability to work after regular business hours as needed.
• Working knowledge of plumbing and HVAC are required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day to day operations of entire branch.
• Coordinate activities of the maintenance, service, and indoor air quality departments to improve efficiency using reports.
• Implements organizational policies and goals.
• Coordinate activities of Maintenance, Service, Indoor Air Quality, and Installation to improve efficiency and economy.
• Monitor dispatcher activity to maximize call volume and ensure right tech/right call.
• Collaborate with the District Manager on budgeting.
• Generate reports and manage inventory, tools, and vehicles.
• Review reports with upper management.
• Instruct crews on proper use of materials and quality workmanship.
• Review payroll records to ensure technicians are paid properly.
• Communicate with dispatchers to assign appropriate technicians.
• Evaluate staff to determine training needs.
• Ensure company vehicles and parts stock are managed and replenished.
• Performs additional related duties as needed.
