Job summary

Black & Veatch Corporation in Seattle, WA is seeking a Construction Manager for a brownfield coal-to-gas power plant conversion. You will support the Site Manager, coordinate across owner-held contracts, and oversee safety, quality, and schedule to ensure successful project execution in a live facility.

The role requires 10+ years in industrial construction with supervisory experience; familiarity with outage planning and multi-discipline teams; Primavera P6 proficiency is expected; ESOP‑owned

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related technical discipline, or equivalent construction experience.
• 10+ years of industrial construction experience with at least 5 years in supervision or field leadership.
• Experience on power generation, energy, heavy industrial, or major infrastructure projects.
• Experience in active operating facilities and brownfield environments.
• Experience coordinating multi-discipline construction (civil, structural, mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation, controls).
• Knowledge of contractor management, field execution planning, and contract administration.
• Proficiency with Primavera P6 scheduling.
• Strong knowledge of industrial safety programs and QA requirements.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the Site Manager in all on-site Construction Management activities.
• Coordinate daily construction across multiple owner-held contracts and fronts.
• Monitor safety, quality, productivity, staffing, and schedule compliance of contractors.
• Lead daily coordination meetings and contractor interface meetings.
• Coordinate field execution between contractors, engineering, commissioning, operations and project stakeholders.
• Identify constraints, interface issues, access conflicts, and operational impacts; drive resolution.
• Support outage, tie-in, energization, and brownfield execution plans.
• Review contractor schedules, look-ahead plans, and progress reporting.
• Verify progress and assist with contractor payments, change orders, and field changes.
• Monitor quality and support inspections, turnover, and system completion.
• Coordinate with union and non-union contractors; manage labor relations considerations.
• Coordinate engineering support for RFIs, non-conformances, and design clarifications.
• Assist in mitigation and recovery planning when performance deviates.
• Prepare field reports, progress updates, and risk summaries for leadership.
• Support system walkdowns, mechanical completion, turnover, commissioning, and startup activities.
