Job summary

Ruston Paving is seeking a Class A Dump Truck Driver in Virginia to transport and dump materials such as stone and asphalt. You will conduct safety inspections, maintain logs, and ensure legal weight and proper loading.

You will operate dump trucks, coordinate with dispatch, and uphold strict safety standards in all weather conditions. Experience with heavy equipment is required, and a USDOT medical certificate must be valid.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Class A CDL.
• Must possess a USDOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate.
• Minimum 2 years of experience transporting heavy construction equipment or materials.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily truck inspections per FMCSA guidelines to ensure equipment safety.
• Maintains truck logs and time records per state and company policies.
• Loads and secures materials for transport and ensures weight compliance.
• Operates trucks safely to project destinations and communicates with dispatch.
• Puts tarps over loads and ensures cargo area is clean and organized.
• Performs post-trip inspections and notes any defects or deficiencies in writing.

Education

Valid Class A CDL

USDOT Medical Certificate

2+ years of experience with heavy construction equipment
