Job summary

The City of Oakland is seeking an Employee and Labor Relations Technician to support confidential case handling, deadlines, and coordination of labor relations activities within the Human Resources Management Department.

The role requires strong organizational skills, discretion with sensitive information, and excellent communication to build relationships across employees, supervisors, and labor representatives.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to high school completion; an Associate's degree is desirable.
• Two years of clerical, administrative, or technical support in HR.
• Experience supporting employee and labor relations is highly desirable.
• Ability to travel to various locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain confidential case files, records, and related documentation.
• Track deadlines and case activities for disciplinary actions, grievances, investigations, or hearings.
• Coordinate meetings, hearings, and labor-management activities.
• Maintain labor relations records and information systems.
• Provide administrative support for hearings and negotiations.
