Job Overview

This position provides legal analysis, advice, and support to the largest employer purchaser of health care in Minnesota, working closely with the Employee Insurance leadership team overseeing the State Employee Group Insurance Program (SEGIP) and the Public Employees Insurance Program (PEIP). Key responsibilities include ensuring compliance with laws, legal research, reviewing policies, legislative input, tracking legal developments, training, and supporting contract negotiations.

Additional Information

This role may involve access to sensitive labor relations information and offers a potential hiring incentive of up to $10,000. It is eligible for a hybrid telework arrangement, with onsite attendance as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Current license to practice law in Minnesota
  • At least three years of legal practice, including experience with health insurance, legal research, training, and legal advising
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience reviewing and drafting legislation and contracts
  • Knowledge of employee benefits, data practices, and related laws
